The Event

The Mudhook 2-handed Regatta will be organised by Mudhook Yacht. Club and will take place off Inverkip on Saturday 1 June 2024.

Rules and handicaps

The Regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) and CYCA Handicap Rules. Each boat entering the Regatta shall have a valid CYCA handicap and shall have a crew of 2 persons over 18 years of age.

Classes

The Regatta will include the following classes:

Class 1 - all CYCA handicaps - spinnakers may be used

Class 2 - all CYCA handicaps - spinnakers may NOT be used

Classes may be sub-divided depending on the number of entries.

Races

Two races are planned on Saturday 1 June, both round fixed marks selected on the day from a list which will be published in the sailing instructions. The first warning signal will be at 10.00am.

Entries and entry fee

Entries shall be submitted on the form from the Regatta Noticeboard, completed online or emailed to regatta@mudhookyc.co.uk by Wednesday 29 May 2024. Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the organising authority. The entry fee is £20 which shall be paid directly to the Mudhook YC bank account as detailed on the Entry Form..

VHF and communications with competitors

Each boat shall carry a VHF transceiver with channels 72 and 77.

Sailing instructions, alterations and notices

Sailing instructions will be published on the Mudhook YC website www.mudhookyc.co.uk by 19.00 on Wednesday 29 May 2024 along with a list of entries and classes. Alterations to the sailing instructions and any notices to competitors will also be published on the website.

Prizes and social

Prizes will be presented after racing in the Chartroom at Kip Marina to the first two boats in each class in each race. A trophy will be presented to the boat which, in the opinion of the race committee, has given the best performance of all the boats in the Regatta.

Crews are also encouraged to meet in the Chartroom from 20.00 on Friday 31 May. Boats are responsible for their own berthing fees if visiting Kip Marina. (Clydeport and compliance clauses to be inserted?)
